Lately I’ve been falling in love with watercolour paints all over again (with some digital touches)…
I recently completed the images for ‘The Otter & the Meerkat’, this book was a personal commission job which filled my heart with joy. One of the things I loved most about this story was that some of the scenes were based in Melbourne… oh how nostalgic for me. The culture, the food, the love, the good times.
It was great to fast track myself through the book making process and it has me eager to move forward with my next project… working on an actual real book for children with a wonderful writer and good friend.
A quick digital illustration for the Character Design Weekly Challenge, Week 3 topic of ‘stomp’.
In 2018 I’ve decided to get on board with the Character Design Weekly Challenge. Since I’ll be spending a lot of my Illustration time on commissions and books, I’ll be trying to complete the challenge drawings during craft time with my little ones. I’ll then quickly finish them off in Procreate. Of course I say this now but time will tell and processes will change to suit my life at the time.
I let myself fall off the 52 Week Illustration Challenge this year, quite simply I didn’t have the time for it. However I’ve decided that I will commit again in 2018. I plan to at least do a quick digital sketh each week – much like this one. I’d like to improve my digital illustrations and speed them up a bit.
